We finally got the boys a new dresser. I got it at a garage sale and I feel like it was a pretty good deal.
It's looking a little rough as you can see. It is solid pine, but missing some hardware and there was some paint splatters and marks on it. Not to mention I wasn't in love with the color of the stain. But my husband bought me a mouse sander so we got right to work on it.
Now we have no garage...shed...basement... to do any kind of project in so I really have to think hard about whether or not I want to undertake anything as it really disrupts our living space...as you can see. I did take the dresser out on the front stoop and used my new mouse sander out there to finish the job. It's not the greatest option, but better than the dinning room!

It's not the greatest option, but better than the dinning room!So due to the excessive dust we only sanded (did I mention my husband bought me a new mouse sander) the top and used paint that has the primer mixed in it for the rest. It was a lot lighter than I wanted, but it still turned out OK.

Now there is room on the pretty wood grained top for all the boys "stuff".
I mean, what boys room would be complete without some photos...self made mosaic art and Nativity that stays up year round...and of coarse the ever important rock collection.
The screws for the new hardware where too long, so I just used some washers to make them fit.
I also painted this old shelf I bought...probably close to 8 years ago at a garage sale for I think $5.00. I really don't like the shelf but at least it matches now. Sigh...that paint is so light. Oh well. If I don't like it bad enough I can always get out the new mouse sander my husband bought me.

Beautiful job on the dresser! Yard sale deals are the best!
Steph - you did a great job! It looks fab and I love the colour! Well done you - I love projects like that and it must be even more fun with that NEW MOUSE SANDER THAT YOUR HUSBAND BOUGHT YOU! ;o) xx
Looks great! I need to paint the shelf in DD's room ... it looks bad! And she desperately needs a new desk. But I can't seem to find the motivation to go the "junk stores" to find anything. I need a shopping & project buddy ... SC is close to GA. :)
