Hi Stephanie! I will try and be brief about my thoughts on the "100 Easy Lessons" book. I have used it with all three of our children. We have not completed the whole book b/c once they are reading they get a little bored with it and are ready to move on to easy readers. But, I really like how it teaches them to sound things out slowly, and then say it fast. I was able to get mine off amazon.com really cheap. Also, check half.com for good prices on books. My daughter will be 5 in March. We usually do 1/2 lesson and that's all she can handle. So, don't feel like you HAVE to do a complete lesson each time. Keep it short. I have even started it and restarted it with my son about three times. If he was struggling with the readers, we went back to the 100 Lessons book. Here's a great site with some great reviews of the book. http://www.timberdoodle.com/Teach_Your_Child_to_Read_in_100_Easy_Lessons_p/460-010.htm Feel free to ask me anything else:) I LOVED teaching my children how to read.
