Use Words, Please!

The other day we were driving and my oldest asked a question. The answer...

IDK.

You could probably hear the guttural sigh that welled up from deep within me. Along with the eye roll that could possibly have done as my mother said and left my eyes permanently positioned towards the back of my head.

Seriously... IDK???

NO.

My children, at this point, got a long... L - O - N - G talking to {lecture} about USING WORDS.

The Lord has given us brains...

Brains that are capable of many, many things.

Not the least of which is USING FULL WORDS when speaking...

To anyone!

So I am here to implore you out there reading. Will you come along side me in this endeavor?

If we don't, I fear we will someday be working in a society of managers and bosses who send out memos that look like this...

KUTGW. TQNAOTC. WHATYAOU.
NGBTW!!!

Keep up the good work. Third quarters numbers were off the charts. We have a tough year ahead of us.
Now get back to work!!!

Or something like that.

In all seriousness, it drives me crazy to here kids using letters as a form of communication...

Therefore, a new TeamBabetz rule...

You must use complete words at all times.

If not, I will throw a flag and there will be a penalty!

Head over to the WFMW party at We are THAT Family for tips, tricks and great ideas.

ICAWYOTO (I completely agree with you on this one!)

My girls are not to that stage yet, but I can assure you, I fully support your full word endeavor. We will definitely require that full words be used by our children.

Call me old fashioned, but even when I send a text message, I type out the whole word (even on my archaic phone keypad). :)

Love it! So far we've managed to avoid that ... but I'm sure it will be coming. Ugh ...

I'm with you!
I have a friend who teaches 8th grade English and she gets papers handed in to her all the time w/ this texting lingo in them!!! It's an outrage!
