Selfish or Just Weary?

I just posted a note on FB to my BFF about how I would love to just hop a plane to MN and spend the day at the Mall of America with her and my sister.

I hit the "share" button and have felt guilty about it ever since.

This was supposed to be a really fun week. It's my girl's 7th birthday week. But she spent her special day with a bucket and stomach cramps. No fun. She wasn't the first of the team members to get the stomach bug this week...nor was she the last.

I had forgotten how hard it is to get a toddler to throw up in a bucket. We just made a run for the bathroom hoping to make it in time.

And honestly I'm sick of it. No pun intended.

I'm sick of disinfecting and doing ridiculous amounts of laundry.

I'm sick of asking my husband to go to the store for me after he's worked a long day.

I'm sick of trying to get rid of the "sick" smells that are stuck in my house.

My windows are open today and it's not even 60 outside.

But I have to...HAVE TO get some fresh are in this house.

So this morning while I was standing at the bathroom sink the thought struck me how badly I just wanted to sit with my friend and my sister in snowy MN enjoying some laughter and a good cup of coffee.

I love my children and I'm thankful that I'm able to take care of them and comfort them when they're sick.

but...

Selfishly, I want to hang with some girlfriends.

Or maybe I'm just a little...

Weary.
