I found the phone in the fridge yesterday and while I would love to blame my children for it that would be unfair because it was me who left if there.
I'm very good at putting things down right where I am and then forgetting that they're there.
It's a gift.
I was cleaning out the fridge when the phone rang and one of my girls brought it to me. I was at the point closing the trash bag and I needed 2 hands. So I set the phone down in the most logical place... the fridge shelf. It didn't even register with me what I was doing.
These are the things that happen when your trying to do too many things at once.
Good intentions gone wrong. Like when I scheduled an eye appt. for my 7 year old in the middle of a school day so I would not have to take all the kids only to realize the week of the appt. the kids were out of school that day. So we all went. I took plenty of food and things to play with but let face it, those trays of little glass circles or making shadow puppets on the eye chart are way more interesting.
Or when I grab a diaper and the wipes thing out a diaper bag to put in my purse but then forget about the juice cup until the next time I need that diaper bag... gross!
I wonder sometimes at women I know who suddenly, after their kids are a little older, appear to transform from a caterpillar to a butterfly. They loose a little weight or get a stylish new haircut, or seem to have a bunch of new clothes. I wonder if it's because they have 2 seconds to string together to really take a look at themselves in the mirror. Or maybe they were very well aware that the shirt they have on has a stain. But really, why bother putting something nice on when the odds are you'll get spilled on, or used as a napkin or Kleenex anyway.
I hope to be a butterfly someday. To not look like I've been through a war before I even step foot out of the house. And maybe with my new found stylishness I'll gain back a few brain cells. I know my husband will be thrilled because he won't have to look in the fridge to find his keys...
or a scissors...
or clean socks...
or the phone.

Friend, you have read my mind! You know how muddled my brain can get (shopping for instance).
A couple of weeks ago, I wrapped up some leftover bacon and put it in the cabinet with the napkins and paper plates. Yes, I did it. No one else can be blamed. And I could go on!
I love this post...so glad I'm not the only one! :)
I can relate to this post all to well! :S Is good to know there are others out there with me doing crazy things. The good thing about this kind of stuff is it can be rather funny to look back on! 1 of the stupid things I did this week was to try and put the orange juice away in the cups cupboard.. only reason I realised what I was doing was because it wouldn't fit! lol
My latest post it about my ditsyness! lol guess it's been one of those weeks for the both of us!
