Summer Projects

This is my beautiful 8... almost 9 year old girl. But if you would, for a second, look past her to the body laying across the table and with his feet up on the back of the booth...

Um, I'd say our work is cut out for us this summer. Wouldn't you?

We're working on lots of things this summer.

Reading...

Math...

Slave labor - ur I mean team work, ahem, you know with chores and... stuff...

ATTITUDE...

That has gotten away from me over the past few months. A little too much sass going on here on the team, so we're gonna be praying about the heart issue as well as writing lots of sentences...

I will obey right away without complaining.

I will not talk back to my mother.

I will use a kind tone when speaking to my brother or sisters.

My mother is pretty and funny and always right.

OK OK, not really...

Anyway, like I said...
We've got our work cut out for us... sigh

Funny how behavioral things go in cycles. Everything is going pretty well, then bam! suddenly they're out of control. The good news is that strong consistent persuasion usually reverses the trend almost as quickly. :^) I guess you're up for "Team Training."

P.S. Am I the only one who suddenly notices all previously overlooked behavior problems when a)grandparents are visiting or b) we're trying to eat at a restaurant?

Hey there! I am so experiencing the same stuff with my eldest kid Jacob. Attitude every day and disobedience. Problem is his head is so full of mischief!
We are all in it together eh?

Your posts always make me smile:)
I'm not smiling b/c you have some tough work to do this summer, but b/c you are so funny, cute, and transparent here at your blog! I just love that and am thankful for sweet bloggers like you:)
I think we'll join you on your summer project quest! We say, "Obey with a happy heart" around here. (I stole that saying from my sis-in-law).

I noticed immediately the body in plank position. It made me feel so good to see another boy, well being a boy. Thanks for sharing that 'you're not alone' moment with me. lol!!
