Valentines t-shirts 2011

That's right, I'm THAT kind of mom.  The girls wanted me to make a t-shirt for myself this year too.  And it looks like this is going to be a fun Valentines Day tradition.
I hope you have a great Valentines Day!!!

Playing Catch-up

Update...

We've been sick.  From the last week of Nov. to about the second week of Jan someone in the house was sick.  During that time we also managed to give said sickness to a couple of cousins, a Grammy and an Aunt too I think.  Thankfully I was the only one who did not get sick.

Cuz lets be honest... it's not an option.

We also had our first EVER case of the 'for real... as in diagnosed' flu.
The first day was rough... poor thing, she really couldn't even walk.  But after that every day got a little better and so we celebrated The 1st Ever Team Babetz Member to Get the Flu with some donuts and hot cocoa.

During that time my Nanny also passed away.  So there was a quick trip to AL for her funeral also.  Is it horrible to say it was a nice trip?   Of coarse it was sad and I miss her, but it was really nice to see family that I never get to see.  From cousins, who I've not seen for 30 some years,.

to my own sisters.  There's only 3 of us so you'ld think we could get together more often, but it had been about 8 years... too long.

   All of us... Aunts, Uncles, cousins... we laughed and had fun learning about each others families.  And I enjoyed learning about Nanny too.  I've been thinking a lot about her and what, of her, I can take with me and pass on to my kids.  More on that later.

Then there was the 7 inches of snow that shut down our schools for a week.  {insert eye roll}  I don't think I missed that many days of school for snow in my entire educational career... and I grew up in MN!  So they've tacked a couple of days on to the end of the school year... which just means more days for the kids to go to school and do nothing b/c by that time of the year the kids have mentally checked out and grades are already in. {another eye roll}

I've also been working on learning how to crochet.  I'm doing OK for a beginner... who is 40 so you know what that does to the learning curve...  but it's going alright.  I'm excited to make a bunch of preemie hats to take to the NICU with Maggie around her birthday.
Those are just a couple...  I've made some other things too that I'll show you later.

So there are the updates.  As of right now...  this very minute...  everyone is healthy and Maggie is potty training, so I'd call that a good day!
